Overview
The Tower depicts a tall spire struck by lightning, its crown blown off and tumbling. Two figures fall — one wears a crown, the other plain clothes. The fire that accompanies the lightning is shaped like the Hebrew letter yod — the seed of all creation. The Tower is one of the most feared cards in tarot, but it is also one of the most truthful. What the lightning strikes is what was built on false foundations. The crown tumbling off suggests that hierarchical structures held together by force rather than integrity collapse under truth. The Tower often appears before external events — but it is always preceded by an internal recognition that the structure has been a fiction. When the Tower comes, do not try to repair what is falling. The universe is clearing ground for a structure aligned with truth.
